I have five other published books. You can find them on Amazon by searching my last name: Asacker
I've decided to self-publish my next book through Amazon's CreateSpace service, and I need an inspiring cover. Here's why:
The book is titled, The Business of Belief: How the World's Best Marketers, Designers, Salespeople, Coaches, Fundraisers, Educators, Entrepreneurs and Other Leaders Get Us to Believe
It highlights how our beliefs are formed, and how others influence those beliefs so that we choose and recommend their products, services, causes and ideas.
Since it will be directed to professionals, especially ones involved in communication, marketing and design, it must be professionally designed.
I'm leaning towards no images, but I may be able to be persuaded otherwise. The key is to have it look professional and interesting at the same time.
The book will be a 5.25 x 8 inch paperback with 138 pages. Here's the CreateSpace page with the submission guidelines:
The spine will simply display my name and the title. The back cover will have a few blurbs (still working on them), a pithy description of the book, and perhaps my photo (depending on ho it all lays out and looks).
I had a few designer friends provide some ideas, which I've included as images.
There will be a lot of marketers, executives and entrepreneurs looking at this book. My plan is to list the designer's name on the interior with the copyright information.
My photo and how my name appears on my website can be found here:
Also, since the marketing and promotion of the book will be entirely online, the thumbnail image must be powerful and readable (at least the title).
Here are some cover designs that I like:
