Omar Shabka
This debut novel by self-publishing author, Omar Shabka, is set to be a best-seller with wide-commercial market appeal
A corporate thriller set in 2010 in
London's high stakes dotcom world, the story centers around the mercurial and
vengeful Daniel Logan, an obsessive voyeur who will use any means to build his
empire, and most of all, destroy his life-long nemesis, Max Greenberg.
Berkeley House is a distinguished private
members club with a stately old-world atmosphere. Spread out over several floors, it occupies one of the
elegant Edwardian buildings surrounding Berkeley Square, London's most
exclusive Mayfair address.
Berkeley House is home to London's power
elite, who use the club's lush facilities to entertain clients and
colleagues. More importantly, it's
members entrust the club's long-time reputation for discretion, and frequently
use the club as a place to host confidential meetings about highly sensitive
business dealings.
Unbeknownst to anyone, Daniel Logan has
wired the place for surveillance. From his high-tech office suite that occupies
Berkeley House's penthouse, he monitors Berkeley House's activity from a
mammoth wall of LCD screens, obsessively harvesting high-stakes secrets that
will bring him illicit profits and his competitors to their knees, and finally
the key to destroying Max Greenberg's plans for a $2billion stock market
floatation.

ARTWORK
--The artwork must have a 'best-seller' look and feel that appeals to a wide commercial market
--Ideas might include an image of a man sitting in Berkeley Square, nighttime, with Berkeley House in the distance and security cameras silhouetted against its dark facade. Another idea might be a scene in the main character's
penthouse (with its contemporary interior) where the main character, Daniel Logan, is standing in front of his wall of screens showing footage from the private member's club downstairs.
-- The artwork might also feature images
that reference the stock market, a business news broadcast, dossiers on people
and businesses.
--If featuring a businessman on the cover,
(i.e., the main character Daniel Logan), he should have blonde slick-back hair,
and his suit must be of a very fine quality, neatly pressed, unruffled. Think "Saville Row."
--Please bear in mind that the overall
design will need to gray-scale well for the Kindle version
--Keywords and concepts to consider for the
design: surveillance, high tech, dotcom, stock market, IPO, computer virus,
subterfuge, man caught in the middle between two villains, corporate espionage
--It has been assumed that the winning design will have been created in InDesign or Illustrator, and submitted in an edit-able, layered format, and loaded with all relevant typefaces.
