I would like a realistic look to the images - the back of the foot and toes and their headwear as well as "my" eyes, which are the size, color, and shape of Cheryl Tiegs' (model from the 70's. Resemblance ends pretty much there.)
In answer to the question re: back of the toes, my vision is the soles of the feet are facing the reader so it's really the outline of the toe bodies shown, not the nail beds which frame their faces and are facing me. (See my drawing below.) I'd rather leave their faces to the reader's imagination, although I am open to ideas. lf you can see their little faces in your head, go right ahead and submit them. The book is about the toes hopes and dreams and my attempts to make them come true - given the fact that their options are limited given they are attached to my husband's foot.
I don't want it to look cartoonish because I am presenting this as a literal experience. A realistic rendering perhaps, not so much photorealism.
But you know - if you are inspired in any way, go for it. I'm open to anything at the moment.
Trust the inspiration I always say.
