I am looking for a book cover design for a lighthearted romance novel called "No Place Like Motorhome." It's a clash of cultures story where a high-healed wearing, high maintenance city girl gets thrust into the campy lifestyle of full-time RVing. She's from a wealthy, high society family in New York City and is accustomed to wearing designer clothes and getting her nails done. Her parents decided to retire and get rid of their place in NYC just as she was graduating college. It doesn't make sense for her to rent a place of her own until she lands a job, so she travels along with them for a summer while she sends out resumes and applies for jobs online.
She is stuck in campgrounds and the great outdoors with poison ivy and bugs, totally out of her element. She doesn't know how to navigate this setting and so she's uncomfortable and out of place.
She meets a writer who travels the country pulling a travel trailer with his pickup truck and writes stories about tourist destinations and historical sites. He's a creative type with not a lot of concern for fashion. Think cute country boy, rumpled bachelor with a five o'clock shadow.
I would prefer to see a motorhome featured in the design. The book describes it as a Class A motorhome. The motorhome looks like a tour bus, big and fancy with chocolate brown exterior and swirling graphics in shades of tan and cream
This istockphoto looks much like what I describe int he book.
If you want to feature characters on the book, here are some descriptions:
She's got long blond hair and wide hazel eyes, and always looks manicured and groomed. She wears pearls and designer clothes.
He has light brown hair with blond sun streaks which is long enough to curl a bit. Vivid blue eyes. Five o'clock shadow and t-shirts or plaid flannel if it's cooler. A blue jeans or khaki shorts guy.
The cover must have the Title featured at a size that will be readable in a thumbnail and my name, Lisa Mills.
I personally like covers that have people (or at least faces) on them, and I think that is more preferred for this genre.
