Design Description:
The novel is about a steampunk/celtic theme park - think celtic symbols and gears. This is the first part of a series, so the design should included elements that can be replicated for visual continuity (font, overall esthetic, iconography).
Idea #1 - From a key scene: a girl and boy (17 & 19, both in modern, casual clothing) silhouetted in a doorway of light in the middle of a huge gear. This is the first threshold the main character crosses.
Idea #2 - Another important scene, a 17-year-old girl (seen from behind) with short, dark hair, wearing average clothes and a pair of goggles, facing a towering animatronic “knight” made of gray stone flecked with copper and wielding a sword.
Other elements to consider, as background touches or iconography:
- A fox leads the main character onward.
- 8-toothed gear with a piece missing between the top tooth and the next tooth, perhaps with celtic designs etched onto it.

Be creative, be bold, make this design stand out among the field of YA novels. I'm open to other design possibilities than the two ideas listed.
