I'd like a full cover jacket for a CreateSpace print book measuring 6x9 with a 1.2" spine. I am attaching the images I would like to use, as well as a mock up of where I'd like to start with it. I have purchased licenses for the images from Shutterstock, so you may use them for this project.
TAG LINE: I'd like a smaller tagline (probably in script) to read: Off limits has never been so irresistible.
AUTHOR NAME: Katrina Snow
BACK COVER COPY:
Lady Katherine Durant has perfected the art of hiding her Gifts—a valuable skill in a land where any hint of sorcery could lead to the burning stake. But, hiding her Gifts isn’t the same as not using them, and that troublesome difference has led to capture each time she’s run from her uncle.
Now, using a newly-discovered spell, she binds her powers and flees again—this time for her life. Unfortunately, her plan to hide as a maid in a distant kingdom goes awry when she unwittingly gets entered into a festival competition for the hand of a prince—a man with a wicked kiss and a sense of adventure that rivals her own.
All she’s ever hoped for is a quiet existence as a servant, never imagining she could find laughter and belonging and love. And now the mischievous prince has her dreaming of all those things.
With a bounty on her head, sorcerers closing in, and a prince threatening to steal her heart, could it finally be time to stop running? Time to trust? Time to love?
Please also include the title and tag line at the top of the page, and the following text somewhere under the back cover copy:
Take another adventure of sorcery, sacrifice and sizzling romance in Katrina Snow’s next novel,Fractured—coming soon!
Please include room on the bottom for an author photo a bit over 1x1" and include this author bio to the right of it:
KATRINA SNOW writes fantasy romance novels, but also pens contemporary and young adult tales when characters bug her to do so. She’s an avid nature photographer, dark chocolate enthusiast and an occasional Texas Hold’em Champ. She lives in New York City. For news about Katrina and her books, visit http://www.katrinasnow.com.
Below that, please include a "Cover Art by line" and space for the ISBN to the right of that.
The novel is about a young sorceress on the run from her uncle, who is the ruler of the sorcerers. She has powerful Gifts (telekinesis, healing, etc.) which he wants to use. She's sort of like a tough Glenda the good witch. While she's powerful, she only uses her abilities if she must and doesn't want to harm anyone. She binds her powers and flees to another kingdom, where she intends to find a position as a servant, but gets entered into a festival contest for the hand of a prince. She's as much annoyed by this as she is drawn to the man. She's constantly in fear of being discovered. (This is her ninth attempt to flee her uncle.)
She wears a round silver locket with her talisman inside, a small coin-sized piece of malachite. (It would be great to make it appear that the woman on the cover is wearing a silver necklace.)
The dress is currently a cream color and I'd really like it to be a more vibrant color that would go well with the rest of the cover. A rich silky blue might be great. Or maybe lavender.
Her uncle can track anyone using magical gifts and can teleport to their location in moments where he appears surrounded by a green mist. I keep thinking it would be great to incorporate this green mist on the cover somehow, or perhaps on the back cover. Or maybe behind or weaving through the title, trailing off over the spine and filling some of the back cover.
Let's see, other elements. The story takes place in a kingdom nestled in a dense forest at the foot of Patagonia-type mountains. I can download more Shutterstock art, so if you see something you want for the back, I can get it with my subscription.
There are also fairy elements of the story. She doesn't see them, but another character interacts with them. So, if you want to put some sparkly type images on the cover, that would be OK. I really want the cover to express both that it's a romance and a fantasy.
I'd also like the title to be in a font with some personality, but not so much that it can't be read at the e-book size on Amazon, etc. The one in my mock up is called Cinzel Decorative Font. So far, it's a favorite, but definitely needs a designer's touch with the shading, etc.
Here's the link to it: http://www.1001freefonts.com/cinzel…ative.font
I also love the font on this cover: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/16…oks&sr=1-1
I like the fonts for both the author name and title on this one:
And while I don't want the exact same thing as the following two novels, I like how the title is surrounded by vines. Perhaps something like that would look good here.
