We provide parenting workshops and teacher trainings and consultation time. I also work as a school psychologist for hire at area private schools. Target audience for this workbook is parents of children 1 - 10 years old.
Wat inspireert je en hoe stel je je het ontwerp van jouw onderneming voor?
This is a front and back cover for our positive discipline workbook titled Eight Weeks to Positive Discipline: A Workbook based on our Popular Workshop Series. The audience is parents of children 1 - 10 years old, grandparents, teachers and coaches. I'd like a design for the front cover and simple layout for the back cover. The front cover - I'd prefer a photo that's representative of peaceful, calm parenting and positive discipline. Other parenting book covers I like include Nurture Shock or How Children Succeed or 5 Love Language of Children or Mind in the Making or Simplicity Parenting - each is a simple photo to represent the idea. I don't tend to like cartoons or pictures of smiling families or smiling children. Back cover - two columns one larger for reviews and one smaller for headshot, bio and our logo. Our websites are parentingbydrrene.com and parentingplaygroups.com to get a feel for what I do. This will be an 8.5x11" workbook and spiral bound.
DAY TWO UPDATE - So appreciate everyone's participation! After looking through these, I know we are NOT looking for photos with lots of kids or photos of families. Families come in such a wide range of structures and people are so diverse - difficult to find a photo that is wide that way. We are looking for something that represents family, calm or represents the idea of positive discipline. Completely recognize this is a difficult thing to represent. We batted around the idea of a parenting tool box - then someone said "Do you really want to represent empathy with a hammer?" Someone suggested a white picket fence and peaceful house to represent boundaries and peace - then someone said "It would look like a lawn care book."
Here's more information - This is an actual workbook and that is part of what sets it apart from other parenting and discipline books. Yes, there is a great deal of text about techniques but there are also several review sections, 10 practice items per technique with possible answers provided and weekly homework.
A wide range of techniques are covered including proactive techniques like types of praise and positive directions, the steps of positive discipline to provide parents a framework from ways to manage emotions to flexible techniques like choices and consequences when all else fails. The book includes sections on managing power struggles and tantrums.
