This needs to carefully weave the integrity of traditional country music entertainment with a singer serial killer in a Texas bar that headlines professional performers with small performers as opening acts.
I want it to feel warm with brown and orangy red colors of leather like cowboy boots, guitar wood or horse saddles with low yellow lighting in places highlighting images with dark smokey surroundings like in a real bar. I have attached a stock image of a guitar to give you an idea of the general feel of the colors.
I almost invision total blackness with the image of the back of a man only showing his left or right side of his body from the boot up and fades into the neck with him holding a guitar lowered almost touching the floor while he holds it loosely by his side as smoke hangs in the air like in long horizontal strips of different shapes and sizes that fade into the blackness.
I would like there to also be somewhere in the distant top corner a haze of light like from a stage shining down on a barely visible microphone because this guy is chasing a dream of country music fame that is just out of his reach.
There is a female FBI agent involved in the case but I don't know if anything could be incorporated in book cover imagery to tip off the reader or even it would be a good idea.
"One for the Road" - Author Wynona Reynolds
[Mystery] Lance Carlton is an up and coming country music singer who travels Texas opening for famous country music artists. He starts focusing his attention on the women who eagerly follow their country music idols. Convincing himself that they are just bar whores who have no real value anyway, he finds a way to satisfy his deep resentment by taking out his revenge on the women. He has a calculated method to his madness in his selection as they are never chosen "at random."
Newly appointed FBI homicide section chief, Janis Fields, is all too eager to solve the case to prove herself to the superiors who promoted her. Afterall, even today in the FBI there still remains an unspoken undercurrent of competitive male rivals jockeying for prestegious promotions who are less than cordial when a female succeeds them. Will she be able to crack the case and earn the respect from her peers that she deserves? Working undercover as a young woman frequenting local bars, she unknowingly comes face to face with the killer. When she finally realizes it, she is in a compromising situation with the killer in which she has virtually no way out. Will her specialized law enforcement training and calm she learned from childhood surviving an abusive father arm her with what she needs to arrest the psycho killer before he kills her and makes a grand escape?
