This is the first of a very long series, so we are looking for someone who is available to work with us for the long run.
The story is set in a medieval time frame and takes place in an enchanted forest, so it should be a bit fairytale-ish, but not in a cheesy way. Wynn is the character to be featured on the cover. She has long, wild, curly red hair, carries a completely red magical sword and wears a long green cloak. She is 18 years old. As she is poor, she dresses similarly to the pictures I've uploaded.
We are extremely open to any design ideas, as we are looking for something unique and striking.
However, there is a concept we’d like to see which features Wynn in the center of the cover, holding her red sword above her head. The sword itself should have light shining from it, as it is sort of a magical sword. Her green cloak and hair could be blowing in the wind. Would like to see the green cloak long and blowing or billowing artistically, like a statement. On either side of the cover and perhaps meeting over the top like a dome, we’d like to see trees which would signify the “Enchanted Wood” in the book. In this forest, there are light green floating, glowing orbs, so we would like to see those dotted randomly around the cover. They look something like this: http://www.cassandraboyson.com/
This would be enough up to this point, but it might be neat to see some additional hints of the fantasy creatures (similar to what you might find in C.S. Lewis’ “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe”) placed within and around the trees, such as a wing here, a horn there, a peculiar tail in another place, etc. This is something you can be quite creative with. However, there are no evil creatures in the forest, so they should not appear sinister. Please inquire if you desire more information.
Now, we would like to see this in any design style but are interested in seeing it in silhouettes similar to this: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/55542…530186062/
For a good idea of the design styles we might like to see, here is a link to the author’s pinterest board for inspiration: https://www.pinterest.com/cassandra…-new-book/
Also interested in possibly seeing some bold, unique typefaces for the title.
