We're looking to appeal to men across all age groups who are interested in being able to cook. Because we'll be catering to men with no previous experience with cooking, our classes are designed to be conducted privately in an intimate setting that will allow participants to learn and experience together.
Our course is at a higher price point than other similar courses so the logo/branding needs to convey a sense of quality but there should also be a little sense of playfulness. A potential customer essentially needs to know that we mean business and that they can trust our product but that we don't take ourselves too seriously.
The name - Prime - was chosen as a reference to prime rib which is known as a superior cut of meat but also as a reference to the superiority of the school. As we are currently the only cooking school looking to focus exclusively on men we feel that we're delivering a better quality product.
The look and feel of the design should be simple, elegant and classy. In terms of themes or inspirations there are a few paths that could work:
- Simple black and white - think spotless white wall tiles with bold black letters or solid black wall with white letters
- Old school butcher shop - think blue and white striped butchers aprons, black or gold writing on a shopfront window, drawings of animals showing the different cuts of meat
- Old gym/old gentlemen's club - think leather, wood panelled rooms, wooden furniture
- Soft minimalist - think pine boxes with really clean lines and sharp edges or high quality firm sided recycled paper boxes with really crisp black text.
Nothing is off limits though so happy to look at anything that doesn't fall into any of the above.
