7twenty7 develops interesting apps for iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, and Android. Our most successful app is SpinArt, which Apple named as the #56 best-selling app of all time as of the end of 2010.
SpinArt is an app based on the classic childhood craft--spin a canvas, splatter paint on it, and create awesome designs in a hurry. It's been a huge success, but the icon has grown old--it dates back to 2008 when nobody knew what they were doing. For more information on the app, just search iTunes for "SpinArt". It's the first one returned. To see the app in action, a YouTube video from about 2 years ago is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oVW4…re=related
We are looking for something new and dynamic. We want to convey fun, creativity, and motion. The spinning of the canvas and the splattering of paint are the main draws of the app. We want a unique and eye catching design. We don't want anything boring or any text on the icon.
See the attached current logos for the current (sorry) state of things. We currently like the fact that you can easily make out a spiral pattern in some of them, and the more colorful samples definitely show motion.
The icon should be delivered in the following resolutions: 512x512, 114x114, 72x72, & 57x57. Obviously this means you can put more detail into the 512px design but it the 57px icon should be clean and readable on the device and fit in nicely with other great app icons.
Adobe files only (.ai or .psd). You know the drill.
