## The design ##
We require an icon design/illustration to accompany a logotype. The icon will be the heads of 2 x "music" robots ("bots") and will need to look great when viewed by itself (eg. a Twitter avatar) or accompanying the logo type (which is still in development). Here's a look at what the logotype is looking like http://d.pr/rpUl
Ideally, the bots should fit nicely in a square frame, or can be cropped nicely to fit into a square for use as an avatar.
Both bots need to be wearing large, over-sized headphones and preferably have midi controller keys as teeth. These are midi controllers http://d.pr/dwTl and here's a graphic/icon example of a midi controller http://d.pr/w3yU
The bots should be the same style, like they are twins, but with some slightly different characteristics to make each unique. Perhaps one can have a mohawk while the other wears a bandana? Please have fun with this and get creative! The bots should be facing back to back, looking in opposite directions (the bot on the left faces left, the bot on the right faces right) but a whole body is not required. It could be just two floating heads, or heads on upper-torsos - whatever looks good. You can draw inspiration from a b-boy stance like this - http://d.pr/wbLF - if they have arms, they can be crossed, but standing back to back. Perhaps even draw inspiration from theatrical masks such as this http://d.pr/XNyx
## Style ##
The visual style must work in unison to the logotype. The finished logotype will have an outline similar to this http://d.pr/KibG and have audio waveforms running through it similar to this current logo of theirs http://d.pr/RLQM but this is not what the letters will look like. They will look like this http://d.pr/rpUl
High contrast (black and white) is preferred, but the design doesn't have to be limited to this. You may add colour if you think it helps the design. Blues and canary yellow are favourite colours.
Here's some branding that features similar "high contrast" styles to what we want to achieve - here http://d.pr/WpK0 and here http://d.pr/fAO3 - and here's how the midi controller keys may look as teeth http://d.pr/KvdB but the "bots" don't *have* to be skulls. They could be robotic skulls or just robots - again, whatever looks good, but please remember to make them wearing big headphones!
Here's some more "bots" for inspiration, but the style of the icon you create doesn't have to exactly match these. Please use these as ideas...
Please, have fun with this and get creative! Take all of the above into account, but if you don't think a certain requirement is working, let us know why.
## Requirements ##
Vector artwork only. The design needs to be scalable and able to be screen printed and embroided, so if you create shadows and textures, please do not use rasterised graphics. Any application of a gradient should be a dot screen without any tones.
Must look good at a small size (i.e. Twitter avatar) but be detailed enough to look good large (t-shirts, posters etc)
Must look good on both black and white backgrounds. If this means adding a white keyline or halo around the bot when it's on a black background, we'd love to see it.
