DataStax is a B2B software company that sells database software to large enterprise companies. What sets DataStax apart from other database providers is that our database products are proven to scale to very large amounts of data, extremely high transaction volume, and can be distributed across the globe while seamlessly scaling up and down.
Large enterprises need our database product to power their mobile or web application, i.e. to store and retrieve the data and make sure it is securely persisted.
Our target audience are software developers and software architects working for large enterprise organizations.
Wat inspireert je en hoe stel je je het ontwerp van jouw onderneming voor?
Our company mascot is the rhino and for a new and highly advanced database product we are currently building, we need a product mascot. Hence, we would like a design of a "cyborg rhino" that appeals to a technology focused audience of software developers and architects. It should look professional, futuristic, trustworthy and fun. Striking the right balance between a professional look that fits a B2B company and a fun look that inspires a smile and leads to a moment of delight is going to be critical.
By cyborg rhino we mean a rhino that is part robot.
The mascot will be used in various parts of the new software product to help users navigate it and fill screens where users need to wait or when an error occurs. The mascot should "humanize" the product and is a key component for its delight-factor. In many ways, this mascot will be the users guide through the software.
As such, the mascot should have a "trusted teacher or professor" vibe. It should NOT look fearsome or war-like.
The mascot should be aligned with our company brand and corporate identity. Please visit this webpage to find color information and the company logo: https://www.datastax.com/branding
The rhino should be mostly grey with blues and other company colors as appropriate to make it look "cyborg".
Attached is a photo of the plush animal version of our mascot for inspiration. We are looking for a less cutesy and more professional cyborg rhino but this might be of help.
The second image illustrates the style of design we are looking for: clip-art, soft-contoured, friendly looking. It also does a good job incorporating the futuristic elements, but obviously we want this to be rhino (not human) and it would be great to have some more robotic/cyborg elements (not just an iron man suite).
