We are publishing a series of books that help parents pass on culture and mythology to the younger generation.

This is our first book in a series. This book is 'Ramayana' For those of you who are not familiar with the story, here is a
summary :

Ramayana is an ancient Sanskrit epic which follows Prince Rama's quest to rescue his beloved wife Sita from the clutches of Ravana (ten headed demon) with the help of an army of monkeys.

Rama, prince of Ayodhya, won the hand of the beautiful princess Sita, but was exiled with her and his brother Laksmana for 14 years through the plotting of his stepmother. In the forest Sita was abducted by Ravana, and Rama gathered an army of monkeys and bears to search for her. The allies attacked Lanka, killed Ravana, and rescued Sita. In order to prove her chastity, Sita entered fire, but was vindicated by the gods and restored to her husband. After the couple's triumphant return to Ayodhya, Rama's righteous rule (Ram-raj) inaugurated a golden age for all mankind.

It depicts the duties of relationships, portraying ideal characters like the ideal father, ideal servant, the ideal brother, the ideal wife and the ideal king.

We would like the book cover designed for our first book ‘Ramayana’ with a custom illustration.

The illustration can be of a scene from the story, can be one or more characters etc.., you can decide on that.

It must have friendly colors, ( preference of lighter and brighter colors) like in pic 1 qnd pic 3

Since this book is geared towards young children and their parents, the illustration has to be simple and yet have enough details. It has to appeal to the younger children.

Pic 1 : We like the colors, the characters, and their facial expressions are very cute
Pic 2: We like the detail of the scene in the colored version only, and happy faces (emotions) of kids
Pic 3: Like it that this is very disney 'dumbo' like and the expressions are very friendly
Pic 4: We like the simplicity of the landscape but do not like the colors or the mood of the image, as these colors are very scary for young children.

Please keep in mind that this cover determines the illustrative style for the book. We are looking to work with the winner for the rest of the book and also other books in the series.
