We are looking for a ‘hero illustration’ to lead our 2018 festival marketing campaign.
In previous years, we have used a great photo from the event, featuring attendees having fun at the festival. This has been used across our full marketing campaign, including large format outdoor billboards, digital advertising, social media, emails and more. This year, we want to take a different approach and are looking for a fantastic illustration to lead the campaign.
GABS Souvenir Glass
We’ve taken some indicative photos (attached) of our distinctive GABS Glass with the GABS badge logo. This could be used as the centrepiece of the illustration, filled with beer and a generous head to the narrow neck of the glass. The glass could be used on its own or in a ‘Cheers’ pose with another glass.
If it works with the illustration, it would be great to hint at some of the other event features in the background.
These could include:
Ferris wheel. This is a major element of our Australian events.
Trumpet/saxophone/drum (one or all) Representing our ‘house band’ The Ale Capones.
People dancing / arms up. Giving a sense of the entertainment / silent disco.
Circus performer. We have a range of roving performers throughout the festival.
Festoon lighting / bunting / lanterns. We decorate the entire event with festoons, bunting flags and lanterns. It’s a strong part of the aesthetic.
Paddle of beer tasters. People buy tasting paddles of different beers.
Giant Jenga. Very popular at GABS!
Bell. This is rung at the start and finish of the event.
We have attached some reference photos of each of these elements. Please note it’s not essential that any or all of these are included as we want to keep the focus on the beer glass. But if you felt some of these elements could work, very happy to explore this.
