Jason Grieshop
I am a solo singer/songwriter guitarist. I play shows in the Midwest at clubs, bars, and coffeeshops. Target audience is people of all ages who don't associate with current pop culture but also wouldn't be described as hipsters. Although I might. :)
I'm looking for a clean but warm design using aspects of late 19th/early 20th century ornate design but in a minimalism setting. I need an elaborate script of the album title "Briarwood" and more of a block style lettering of my name "Jason Grieshop". As well as an illustration of Erica Arborea (Briar wood plant) flowers. I prefer these flowers visually when slightly closed, not in full bloom, and would like the contrast between the black, red, and white of the flowers slightly exaggerated. I'd like it set on a cream/orange/yellow background, think Neil Young "Harvest" cover. I'd like the whole thing to have a hand drawn feel but with the accuracy of digital. If you any ideas to make the design more interesting feel free too add to it.
I also need a back cover and label for the actual CD. Back cover would be the same background as the front just a simple song list which I'll include below. The words "Recorded at Sonic Lounge Studio; Grove City, Ohio" somewhere on the back. CD label would just be the script and background from the front cover reworked to fit on the CD.
1. Sioux City Skyline
2. Love Not Love
3. Goodbyes Are Forgiven
4. I Want You
5. Yesterday's Fool
6. Come On and Love Me
7. Kiss on Me
8. Waiting For The Coffee
9. Old Love
10. Last of my Breed
I'm including images of the "Harvest" album cover, the flowers, some examples I found inspiring, print templates (Discmakers templates J100 for covers and UD109 for CD label), and the arrangement I have in mind. I'm not a visual artist by any stretch of the imagination so forgive the crudeness of my drawing.
