Congrats to all of the finalists!
For the hand scanner page, we are going to add a video player to the left of the scanner that will play a video from the Managing of TRDWTR - once ACCESS has been GRANTED. Essentially this entire landing page is just one long animation - from hand scan to video. so imagine one big panel that is a hand scanner and video screen combined. The video screen can be vertical (as opposed to horizontal) to make room for the hand scanner. At the bottom of the page, it will say something like "Skip to full site" (in case the user has been there before).
I also uploaded the PSD with all of the icons (without text) you'll see we added two so now there are 10 total... (Operatives, Facility, Threats, Synopsis, Science, Media, Horizon, Comic, Blog, Become an Operative [grey flame])
1) There will be a splash page that comes right before the home page. It will be the "log in" type of screen - but it will be a hand scanner log in. An outline of a hand (not actual hand) - that will say "Place hand for ACCESS" or something like that. There will be five little circles or something like that on each finger tip. (obviously you won't actually put your hand on the screen - it will just be a fun little animation splash page before website) After a couple seconds, each finger tip will glow and then the whole hand will glow - or lines from fingertips will go to center of hand, and then it will say ACCESS GRANTED. then it will go to home page of website.
2) menu bar will now be circular console that will be the ONLY thing on the home page. this will really make it seem like a console. Once you click on one of the circular menu options, it will open only the respective page (operatives, Facility, etc). then the circular menu will move to the top left corner (or just the top) of the screen, just partly visible so the user knows its there. When they hover over the partly visibly circular menu bar, the circular menu moves back into frame. Take a look at the Facility page on my website to see sort of what i mean about the menu bar moving off of the screen and then reappearing on hover.
3) Individual Operatives page. We don't currently have an individual operative page on our website (right now if you click on operative origins, it takes you to boring blog post) - so what we are going to do, is keep the current snow animation on operative page (snow, dark operative group shot that illuminate on hover) - and make them clickable. All text will be removed from page (so no more character bios on hover) - when you click on operative from the snow page, it will bring you to individual oeprative page (this should look like the console, like you are looking at them in a holographic database. But only use their headshot icon (and put a cool computer effect over the image. DON'T use previous posters of individual characters (where each one had own color), because those dont work with the site and look like power rangers. instead you can take individual character concepts which i just uploaded. Then it will say pretty much all of the stuff that was on their hover bio (on current website operative page).
So to clarify, the set up of the home page you were working on is not longer the layout of the website. I understand that this is essentially a new design, but you all already now have a clear understanding of what I am going for, and if anything, this should be a much more fun, and simplistic design.
Darkrose Studios presents it's original Sci Fi animated series. It's like X-Men meets Jason Bourne.
We already have a very unique kickass website (http://www.trdwtr.com), but we want to completely redo the look of it, to make it more high tech and futuristic looking....
I think it would be really cool if this site actually felt like you (the user) were logging into a high tech futuristic console/database as opposed to just "visiting a website". If you have ever seen the movie "Minority Report", or "Oblivion" I loved how they used the clear touch screen and how the images popped up and had the glow.
I attached some reference images that i really really like. Im a big fan of that cool glow and touch screen feel. It's like the monitor is a clear glass panel. Love that! You can completely redesign my site, as i feel like that is what we really want.
I'm a big fan of asymmetry (not symmetry). It should have great detail to match the references. The site should NOT look templated. It should NOT be cartooney or child like. It shouldn't look like outer space.
