Although this is a computer consulting company, I am also a very nature-oriented person. That is why I chose to the word "Ailanthus" in my company name.
The Ailanthus tree, although prized in Asia ("Tree of Heaven"), is better known as a pesky weed in North America ("Ghetto Palm"). It is likely to be found growing behind an old garage, in abandoned laneways, forgotten properties, etc.
While that may seem a strange choice for a company name, I chose it for that very reason because the Ailanthus tree is a very tenacious plant. It is perfectly happy growing in very adverse conditions (e.g. poor soil, lack of water, not optimal light, etc.). Once it is growing, it is very difficult to eradicate.
I like this metaphore because I'm trying to give the same impression of my business. I am very tenacious too. I will get the job done no matter what the conditions are when I get there (poor working environment, stressful situations, disastrous projects, etc.).
