We believe in the nonprofit model as an effective way to drive social change.
We also believe that many photographers, ranging from professionals to students, seek ways to effect social change. Through collaboration with nonprofits, photographers can help drive change and also realize personal benefits such as experience, exposure, creative expression, and paid work.
We believe that high quality photography has the potential to inspire and engage citizen in a variety of ways.
We believe that the nonprofits working to drive social change will be more effective at telling their stories with the use of high quality photography. The result can be a range of benefits including:
Recruiting/inspiring volunteers, staff or Board members
Inspiring donors and grant-makers
Driving a “movement” or policy changes
Chronicling / documenting progress
PhotoPhilanthropy is founded on the shared passion for change among nonprofits, photographers and engaged citizens. The additional tangible benefits to both nonprofits and photographers make PhotoPhilanthropy an emerging model for capitalizing on that passion.
Our activities are designed to stimulate more collaboration and to make the process of creating and using high quality photography easier and more common among photographers, non-profits, and other engaged citizens.

Type & Wording
We like our existing logo-type, but are open to others. We like having the word on one line (don't split Photo and Philanthropy)
We do not like the filmstrip very much.
The colors we have now are too light/unsaturated. Green & orange are ok, although 2 colors (grey/black and another color) would be better.
The current tag line "photography driven by social change, social change driven by photography" does not have to be incorporated. We may add it at the bottom later.
Branding to convey:
Global, photography, storytelling, hope, light, clean, prestigious, high-quality, inspiring, action-oriented, intelligent, compassionate.
We run a photography award each year, and would like something that would look good incorporated into a physical award as well.
