CRAFT is a community woodworking shop in St. Petersburg, FL. You could think of it as a makerspace that focuses on wood as a primary medium. While we embrace woodworking as a traditional craft, we are pushing its boundaries by incorporating laser cutting, engraving, and CNC machines into our space. We offer membership on a monthly basis, along with a wide range of classes that guide members and non-members alike through the process of making everything from cutting boards to surfboards. Beyond the shop, we offer our members a lounge area with beer and wine along with an adjacent gallery for members and professionals to display and sell their work.
Our target audience spans a variety of traditional demographics. Our customers have a desire to create, to learn, and to be a part of the CRAFT community. In addition, they have a reasonable amount of free time and disposable income which allows them to pursue the craft of woodworking. Ideally this target customer spans across generations, including retirees, working professionals and young people alike.

St. Petersburg is old-world Florida but revitalized with an outdoor focused, innovative, local-centric feel. We want to capture some of this uniqueness in our branding. The pelican is represented on the city’s flag, and aqua is a color that is inherently associated with Florida’s Gulf Coast. Perhaps you incorporate the pelican or the color aqua into the design, perhaps not, but they are options that we think could add depth to our branding.
The word CRAFT can be associated with “craftsmanship,” but also “arts and crafts.” It is important that our branding clearly be indicative of the former, and not the latter. When we think of our branding and design, we tend to think of a cleaner and more innovative feel. We want to make sure that the logo is versatile enough to work in a variety of applications; on a road front sign, a large indoor sign, on business cards, advertisements, and in other marketing material.
