Nanuq Original was founded by award-winning filmmakers Brent Yontz and Jill Jones after they met at The Telluride Film Festival in 2008. NANUQ, meaning polar bear in Inuit Eskimo, was the name of their first short film, which was a live action animated docufiction inspired by the 1922 documentary Nanook of the North.
Nanuq Original specializes in original nonfiction content creation for television in the categories of Art & Culture, Science & Technology, Sport & Adventure and History & Biography. Our mission is to produce content for family and adult oriented audiences that entertains, enlightens and educates through nonfiction character driven stories that blend the highest quality live action and animation technologies.
