Haagen Dazs does not compare itself any longer to Ben & Jerry's, but with Louis Vuitton. - as they do a premium Ice cream - which sells 7-8 times more expensive then the McDonald Ice cream next door.
Gelateria Italia makes premium Gelato and thrives to become for this Italian version of Ice cream what Haagen Dazs is for American (French / Danish).
We make Gelato we would give our own kids to eat. Fresh fruits, pure milk and the best French cream are the base of this authentic Italian dessert. Adding the best hazelnuts from Piedmont, pistachios from Sicily, single origin chocolate from South America and Africa, purest vanilla beans from Madagascar and Polynesia as well as the best selection of liquors for our famous spiritual Gelato.
We make Gelato like in 1962 - The tradition is our passion.
The task for the logo design is to make the spread between tradition - a traditional, fun Italian Gelateria - while communicating high end, premium product. Additionally we have the challenge to protect the brand (trademark) - which is not possible with 'Gelateria Italia' alone. We hence decided to include the character of the founder and our slogan 'come nel 1962' (italian for 'like in 1962') to end up with an emblem and/or character which in it's own is distinctive, recognizable, unique (and possible to protect as a trademark). Hence please incorporate the following elements:
Gelateria Italia (cursive fonds are preferred)
come nel 1962 (as an under title/tag line maybe)
character of founder (use picture to trace or as basis for character)
Please keep in mind that the logo needs to go over the shop (see samples attached). It should however not be the current rectangular box - as this is a bit borring and non-descriptive.
