We really wish for the logo to be simple, clean and elegant. We would like to take inspiration from the major European luxury brands such as Chanel and Hermes – they have a very simple word mark and perhaps a highly recognizable crest/pictorial mark (e.g., the horse carriage for Hermes).
Similarly, if you browse the “example logo” gallery that we have uploaded, you will see that many well-known French patisseries in Paris have followed in the footsteps of such luxury brands. Patisseries like Pierre Herme, Fauchon, Laduree, Hugo & Victor, all have a very simple word mark, and a simplified mark with initials (e.g., “PH” for Pierre Herme and “HV” for Hugo & Victor, which is used for the labels on their cakes).
Our brand will be L’Éclair by Sarah Michelle. For the logo, we would like it to be separated into two lines: “L’Éclair” on top in bigger font, and “by SARAH MICHELLE” below in slightly smaller font. They do not have to be the same font. We would prefer “L’Éclair” to be slightly cursive but legible, you may also explore intricate and elegant Baroque detailing and font styles.
If possible, we would like to include a crest/symbol/pictorial mark somewhere above the “L’Éclair” word. We were thinking of an elegant-looking crown, or perhaps a simple Baroque style crest. It would be great if you could artistically incorporate our initials “SM” into a nice crest/symbol. We can then use this symbol for our eclair liners and labels, and also on the packaging. If we are happy with your design, we may consider engaging you on a one-to-one project to design our business cards and packaging boxes as well.
We have uploaded a rough sketch of how we want the “L’Éclair by SARAH MICHELLE” to look like, and included an example of a crown pictorial mark that we grabbed off Google images. We trust that you talented designers can improve on this and create a beautiful logo for us. All the best and we look forward to seeing your designs. ☺
