UPDATE 11-14: I'd like to thank you all for the effort you've extended to help me develop a new logo. I want to make sure my needs are clear. I want a design that uses Amber Fenton in larger letters and the word "designs" smaller in an offsetting font. Amber Fenton should be the main emphasis and the winning design should be able to be used in a rectangular shape approx. 1 3/4 x 5". Please see my current logo that I've uploaded on two of my pattern covers. Simple is good. Dark green with various gradiated greens in the design is good.
Since I want to stick primarily with green because it goes with all the other colors in my pattern covers, vines, leaves, swirls, dots - anything that doesn't look crazy because it's the color green woudl work. If you use several shades of green, we should be able to get contrast. I want Amber Fenton to be the first thing you see when you look at a pattern cover. From there, the eye would travel to the picture on the cover that shows the pattern design. See attached files. If Amber Fenton doesn't take up the majority of that rectangular shape, it gets lost on the pattern cover - it doesn't "pop".
Thank you all so much for your effort. I hope I haven't failed you as designers by not giving good enough instructcions. I appreciate all your effort.
UPDATE: I'm attaching my current pattern cover sheet to help illustrate that the logo should be primarily green - 1 1/2 x 5" rectangle. Amber Fenton should be the first thing people see when they look at the pattern, then their eye travels to the pattern pictured. I like green because it goes with all the colors I use in my designs. I love deep colors but am concerned that they may clash when I try to use them with other colors.
Original BRIEF: The first PDF document is a pencil drawing of an idea I had. I offer it as an example - I love swirls and flowers. While I've indicated that I like purple, green and red, it is very important to know that I design a lot of different patterns using many different colors. If you look at my website: http://www.amberfentondesigns.com, you can see the pattern cover for all of my designs on the PATTERNS tab. Currently, my logo is just the words Amber Fenton Designs and they appear in green. I've found that green seems to go with all my designs no matter what colors were used in the design and that appear in the picture on my front covers.
So, I think I'm likely to lean towards using mostly greens (several shades and tones with possibly leaves, vines, and swirls. I'd like Amber Fenton Designs to be fairly bold and the design elements (leaves, vines, swirls, etc.) to be secondary and more subtle. I'm not opposed to some other color as long as they remain secondary to the lettering. When people see the logo, I'd like Amber Fenton Designs to be the first thing they see.
I also like designs that incorporate what appears to be stitching (maybe the vines or on the flowers) so that it mimics applique and sewing and quilting.
Also, the second file that's attached is a picture of some of my handpainted and appliqued flowers that I hope depict my style a little. I tend to design things using bold colors, delicate lines and quilting.
Please help me identify my mark. I hope to use this logo for a long time and hopefully incorporate into my website, my business cards, my letterhead etc.
