PoIStory is a community web site for specialized and niche touristic content, allowing users to retrieve, organize and collect in guides the descriptions of exactly those touristic Points of Interest (PoIs) that are the most relevant to the tastes, habits, and logistic details of individual travelers.
PoIStory addresses the needs for niche and specialized tourists.
PoIStory's website uses a customized version of MediaWiki (the software used, among others, for Wikipedia), which uses a standard template for its page. On the top left corner there must be a logo 135 pixels wide. We are undecided on whether to have a rectangular logo (65 pixel high) or an almost square one (155 pixel high): we accept proposals and suggestions. We also need a high-resolution version of the same for stationery and printed guides. Below it (outside of the logo) we will put the text: "Build your own guide!" (PoIStory's motto).
Our idea of logo is fresh, young, funny (but not ridiculous), conveys any number of concepts such as traveling, tourism, niche communities, user-generated content, printed matter, printed guides, and does NOT contain images resembling the Eiffel Tower, the Colosseum, the Parthenon, the Empire State Building, the Golden Gate Bridge or any other recognizable touristic landmark. It would be interesting to stress the concept of PoIStory as the channel connecting specialized tourists with specialized destinations.
PoIStory has uppercase P and I, lowercase o, and the S is upper or lower case. All other letters are lowercase. We fancy an orange/blue color combination, but that is NOT a requirement. Suggesting the font of the motto and the font of the rest of the page is appreciated.
