Past companies the principles have been involved in have incorporated traditional 'color' icons such as a color wheel, or color strips etc. Local designers have all gone right to those things as well, but to us, they feel a bit dated.
We'd love to see something that tips its hat to these color icons but not overtly so.
With that said, incorporating splashes of color into the logo in some way is important, but no rainbow gradients please!
We are leaning towards slightly abstract but with modern clean typography
Attached is a logo of a company 2 of the past principles were involved (Amigo) in as an example of the use of an abstract color wheel icon - it just feels dated and a little too literal.
Also attached is a logo idea from a local designer that while better, still uses traditional color icons, in this case a color strip. Typography is a little chunky on this one too.
