Verious (with a TM)
We are a new high-tech company in Silicon Valley, CA focused on providing services to application developers in the Web Apps (Facebook...) and Mobile Apps market (Apple iOS, Android, Windows Mobile). Our core values and brand attributes that we'd like to emphasize are:
- High Quality
- "High tech"
Our target audience is web and mobile application developers. These people are software engineers, and develop free and paid-for apps for "untethered devices" (e.g. smartphones, tablets...) on platforms such as Apple's iOS and Android. The developers may be individuals or part of a larger company. They're up to date on the latest technologies and high-tech fads but also steer toward trusted companies, platforms and services.
We're looking for a company logo/corporate identity, something that will go on our website, powerpoint presentation, business cards, and so on. It needs to be professional, clean and memorable. Ideally, we'd like a combination of an icon and a distinct wordmark, both of which we'd like to trademark.
The logo must be able to be on powerpoint documents and sites of virtually any background so avoid Black or Really Dark Blue.
One idea we have (and we have had some good designs that did not use this) was to play around with the "V" in "Verious" rather than having a separate icon and wordmark. We would like to see examples of both.
Also, colors would be very conservative--blues, silvers, maroons--rather than neons and "game-oriented" colors.
Please refrain from (avoid) designs that look too much like space ships or game packaging (XBOX, etc).
Here are some designs we like:
Verisign - http://venturebeat.com/2010/07/09/c…n-dispute/
Microsoft - http://www.microsoft.com/en/au/default.aspx
The logo must incorporate the letters "TM" - trademark.
We'd prefer bold, sturdy, easy-to-read - think something an engineer would like.
We would like print file format (.ai) and web file format (.jpg or .psd).
