Hoshi is a digital strategy consultancy that works with marketing agencies, Fortune 1000 companies and technology startups to ideate and execute around product launches and marketing campaigns.
The people I primarily work with and am targeting are:
- Creative Directors and Account Managers in marketing agencies
- Product and Brand managers for Fortune 1000 companies
Secondary targets would be:
- Business executives and engineers in technology startups
The general look and tone should feel like it would fit in amidst a wall of design agency or technology startup logos.
So visually: clean and elegant, but with a touch of whimsy/personality.
I personally tend to gravitate towards:
- brighter palettes
- bold colors
- sans serif or rounded serif fonts
although I'm open to suggestions that stray from those.
A subtag for possible use (optional): Digital + Strategy
Random note: hoshi means "star" in Japanese. I wouldn't stick an actual 5-point star into the logo, because every star I've seen in design has looked embarrassingly cheesy, but if you can find a creative way to use the concept/imagery, by all means go nuts.
Some examples that might help further convey the styles I'm going for:
(most of these are nice, but I particularly like the Adjika, Paradox, subatomic, IllusionStudio, Horror Films and Zipliner logos)
(again, most of these are really nice, but I like the eden, ignite, design snips, dimchevsky and handle barista logos)
Print file format - .ai (CMYK)
Web file format - .jpg and layered .psd (RGB)
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Thanks very much and have fun!
After reviewing some designs, I would recommend going with a lowercase hoshi, vs. the title case, Hoshi. From what I've seen, I felt like the capital H tended to dominate the designs when used.
