Comenius is a platform creating a seamless link between a new kind of short-course professional skills boot camp and the skills needs of the private sector in emerging markets. Our core product has two facets. The first is rapid in-demand skills acquisition, creating better career opportunities for job seekers. Second, a data-driven informed approach to recruiting, mitigating the risk and time-intensity of recruitment for member employers.
Comenius will serve two customer segments. First, job seekers that typically have a secondary or college level education, demonstrate high potential, and are interested in acquiring the productivity skills (such as analytics, presenting, etc.) they currently lack. Second, human resource managers and business owners who are frustrated with the process and outcomes of their current recruitment methods.
For the job seeker, Comenius will provide an advanced learning environment where the learning outcomes of each associate (job seekers enrolled in the boot camp) are continuously tracked, and personal interactions between coach and associate serve to bring out the best in each associate. For the employer, Comenius will collaborate with them to tailor the boot camp curriculum to respond to the skillsets they require in their hires. As recruiting needs arise, the employers will have access to analytics on the skills and characteristics of all graduated associates, allowing them to select according to their needs from a vetted pool of qualified candidates.
Comenius’ success relies on the quality of the training and matching processes. To optimize the boot camp’s effectiveness, we will work with employers to quantitatively and qualitatively understand what are their skill-set gaps and tailor the curricula accordingly. We will then filter for and train job seekers, capturing data at each step. To ensure that associates experience effective and inspirational learning, we will employ cutting-edge pedagogical practices with demonstrated outcomes, which include blended learning, flipped classrooms, and gamification.
To maximize outcomes of the matching process, Comenius will develop in-depth profiles of employers and associates. Profiles will be built from data captured during the application process, boot camps and employer interactions and will be used to determine which associates are best fits for member employers' job openings and corporate cultures. Member employers and associates will have access to these analytics to make informed recruiting decisions.
Comenius will generate revenues from both associates and employers.
Comenius will serve high-growth emerging markets in Africa, Latin America, and Southeast Asia.
