I want to convey the image of an artisan, specialty coffee house with a logo that would be more at home on a wine label than on a burlap bag of coffee beans. Though I've specified Red and Black, feel free to use other colors that would enhance the design. At least one other light color will be needed for contrast. Please avoid the "typical coffee colors" (earth tones and raw sewage colors) that dominate coffee and coffee house logos, and please avoid using the color green.
The firewheel flower -- for which the coffee shop is named (please do a Google image search) -- is mostly red and yellow (sunset colors). It would be nice to have these colors (and the flower) incorporated into the logo to some extent, and feel free to modify the colors to something that better fits the design (e.g., using crimson red instead of the fire red of the actual flower).
I favor a non-text emblem or pictorial logo that can be combined with the text "Firewheel Coffee" in a way that can be arranged for horizontal or vertical signage. (Emblem between the words "Firewheel" and "Coffee" in horizontal arrangement, or emblem stacked on top of the words "Firewheel" and "Coffee" (or "Firewheel Coffee") for a vertical arrangement.) Please don't use the initials (or any text) in the emblem/pictorial.
I would like for the emblem or pictorial logo to unmistakably depict or symbolize coffee. I don't know how to do this other than with a stylized coffee cup, but I'm open to other ideas. (The world doesn't need another stylized coffee cup design, but if that's the only thing that works, I'm fine with it.) It would also be nice to have the firewheel flower incorporated into the emblem design somehow.
Primary use will be for signage, so files suitable for that purpose would be appreciated.
