We are a small startup in silicon valley working on OpenFlow, a next-generation networking technology that we think will change the way that ethernet networks are designed and built.
We're looking to democratize the technology that is used in the industry by creating a community site where developers can browse, download and contribute to open source projects based on this technology.
Vertel ons iets meer over jezelf en de mensen die je bereikt
Software developers, networking geeks... :)
The logo should incorporate some theme of openness and inter-connectedness -- we are opening up a technology area that is traditionally very closed and proprietary.
The site's look and feel (not entirely functional) is up and running already at openflowhub.org.
We are trying to attract a community of people interested in joining us -- the human/social aspect of this site is important as we hope that some percentage of our users will get interested in participating not only in code exchange but also in joint blog posts, get-togethers, etc.
The name comes from "openflow" - the research technology we're using -- and "hub" -- a networking device that sends every packet to every computer that is connected to it. We're trying to be like a very simple hub of information, serving information and code that anyone contributes to anyone looking to read/download.
We'd accept designs for either "OpenflowHub"/"OpenFlowHub" or "The Hub" if a tagline of "openflow" or "broadcasting openflow" could be worked in to the design.
