I have been working as a freelancer on various startups in NY, basically doing anything required to get a product in the market. Most of that is software development related. I code, architect, manage and do whatever is needed to get it out there. I tend to work with bleeding edge technology, stuff that sits in the innovator section of the technology adoption curve.

I prefer designs that work in black and white as well as in color. Not only will that make it a little easier to apply it in different contexts, but I also agree with Goethe: "In der Beschränkung zeigt sich erst der Meister" — which roughly translates to "The master shows himself first in confinement".

I like the fact that — although the shape is complex — it doesn't really feel like a complex design. It's nice how to pictures are hiding in one, but it's not like you constantly need to decode the picture. The imprint stays on your retina. I also like that it doesn't rely on colors or anything. It's just a shape.
I like the simplicity, the repetition in the simple shapes, even though in this case part of what makes it work this well is the color scheme, I think.
What I like about it is that it's a very distinct shape, yet still really simple.
This is one of the ideas I have been toying with for a while. It's like a magnetic field, and I think it could work well with the name east pole as well.
I named my company East Pole for a number of reasons. First of all, I liked the geographic and explorer type of connotations associated with it. A lot of the things I do have to do with going off in uncharted territory, where you have no map. Another reason why I picked it is because it doesn't refer to a specific activity. There are many things I'm doing from my company. Software Development is just one of them. Another association I like about East Pole is that it's where the sun rises, where renewal is coming from. (Something in side me is associating East Pole with a magnetic field.)
One of the things I like about East Pole is that it obviously doesn't really exist. That is, according to Pooh Bear, it *does* exist, but people prefer not to talk about it. So, all of that, plus it's my favourite restaurant in New York.
I prefer simple over abundant. I like the Airbnb logo, prefer sans-serif over serif. It can be playful, but certainly not slapstick, and I favour aesthetics over a pun.
