Bluem
99designers - you've done it before - let's do it again! Experienced contest-holder with 100% feedback, will answer any questions you may have to help you in creating the perfect design for our new brand.
Bluem (pronounced bloom) is a new startup that provides tools and services around specific web-based software. In particular, this service will be offering conversion optimization, search engine optimization, performance optimization and mobile web optimization.
These advanced services and tools combine marketing expertise, and technical expertise that focuses around specific web platforms. The goal here with everything being done is to create growth for the customers using these tools or services. These will help them improve search ranking, increase conversion rates, improve site performance, and any other tool that might aid in helping to generate more revenue.
Target audience is small to medium sized business owners of web-based businesses - primarily young to middle aged men.
I'll start with what we DON'T want. Because the word "bloom" typically has to do with a flower blooming, designs with semi-transparent overlapping leafs are a dime a dozen. We also do not want a tachometers, gauges, arrows, "feminine florals", or graphs. UNLESS you can incorporate them creatively (eg. we do not just want a bar chart with an arrow pointing up, but if you have flower leaves that come together and visually look like an arrow then that can be acceptable). We also do not want the M in bluem to stand out too much - because the word is pronounced bloom - we do not want people to think it is blue m.
We want something unique that portrays a strong brand representing growth (or blooming) for our customers. Other than that, we're looking for a logo with a unique typeface, and a separate visual. Ideally, this visual could be adapted for each of our different classification of tools/services.
Styling: Preference to simple logos, nothing too complex or overwhelming to the eye.
Colors: We're fairly wide-open, except feminine colors (pink, purple, etc). Do not like the combination of blue and green though (too overdone) Preference towards bold colors - uniqueness is good in this case. It would be good to incorporate blue in some sense, but it can be a secondary (or even tertiary) color.
Medium: Web-only
Buzzwords: grow, optimize, improve, revenue, raise, inflate, boost, "moving the needle", "raising the bar", premium, valuable
