Believe the lies (on your CV) or (on your Resume) for http://believethelies.net
I'm trying to set up a website/ blog which will have a membership forum. The idea is to help anyone seeking a job to build up the skills and attitude to get a job.
An important aspect is to keep up the motivation of those who are unemployed or made redundant.
Content ranges from straight training how to do something to quite cynical articles, eg consider those running temp agencies as pimps selling your body, skills etc.
The articles will be in UK English, but I will be writing for an International market.
Long term I plan to turn the posts into an ebook and training course.
Who am I?
I am a retired further education lecturer, (equivalent to American community college). I live in Richmond, west of London, in a really nice area within walking distance of the River Thames.
I'm noted to have a quirky sense of humour and having 'off the wall' ideas.
I'm married, have three grown up children. I enjoy walking, swimming, photography and whizzing around in my Mazda Bongo camper van, (similar in size to a VW camper), just back from a month's trip in Scotland.
I'm reasonably skilled in web techniques.
Really anyone who is unemployed, made redundant, students coming to the end of their courses, those unhappy in their job and those seeking promotion.
The site will then help them, support them or amuse them in the processes of motivating themselves and seeking jobs.
Support will be through the articles, the email newsletter, the forum and downloadable help sheets. Later ebook.
All text will be in UK English, but written for both a UK and International audience. Where there are differences between the UK and America I will usually explain the difference.
The difference between my site and other job hunting sites is that mine is looking at the user in a wider context - ie motivating them as well as just teaching the techniques. There will also be more humour.
I am really looking for a simple image. I do not want the text or initials.
The image will then be used with the text so I can be flexible with header. I able to use Fireworks or Photoshop Elements to place the image.
Something like a cartoon would be good. Possibly with the word 'Liar'.
Alternatively playing around with the characters in 'Liar'.
I prefer a few simple colours rather than anything too fussy.
