Alternate Version: "cadfish" in combination with the product name...
"cadfish - Vectorworks Partner" (Vectorworks is a registrated Product!)
I am starting a little sales office near Salzburg in the Austrian Alps (Austria! Not Australia!). My main sales (and almost only) product is a CAD software for architects, interior designers, landscape architects, urbanism and light & event planning. I am not only selling the design software, but I also have to explain and teach my customers (architects, designers, ...) how to plan houses or gardens with it. Sometimes I am even teaching the software at universitys for architecture or interior design. The software "Vectorworks" (Logo written in "Rotis Semi Sans") is existing since 1985 and was always known as the easy to use and very creative and colourful planning tool on the mac. So if you know about the advertisement "I am a mac & I am a PC", AutoCAD would probably be the PC and Vectorworks would be the Mac. As Vectorworks is so easy to use and gives so much possibility in colors, design and rendering with an easy to use software. So my customers are also the creative freaks of architecture and design (some of them are MAC fanatics)... please be creative with the logo! (Since 2000 Vectorworks is running on both: Mac and on Windows)
This is what Richard Diehl - the founder of Vectorworks once said... and
it is actually still the character of this CAD software:
"I realized that engineers, architects, and other design professionals
urgently needed powerful and easy-to-use software, and I wanted
to found a company that could offer them this software."
The homepage of the headquarter in the USA, where the software is being developed:
My headquarter in Lörrach (Germany) where the software is translated in german and some tools are added:
The name of my company "cadfish" includes three things of my life.
The business (CAD), my hobby and place to recharge (water) and music...
- cad (computer aided design)
- "fish" (my hobby as a whitewater kayaker)
- "catfish" (I love Mississippi-Blues)
- and I think it sounds kinda nice!
BUT DON'T GET TOO MUCH LOST WITH THE "FISH"...
The focus is CAD, Architecture and Design...
And it should look good when printed in black & white!
The Logo of "Vectorworks" is written in the true type "Rotis Semi Sans".
It would be great if the "catfish"-Logo would also look nice beside the Vectorworks-Logo. But you should definetly feel free to try other types! The logo should really look cool!
You can use colors in the logo but is IMPORTANT THAT THE LOGO LOOKS REALLY GREAT IN BLACK AND WHITE TOO. Since I send my offers in emails and most of my customers only have a black and white printer.
The logo can be funny creative - like the name "cadfish". The logo should represent DESIGN. It should look creative, exclusive... colors welcome, but it should also look great when printed black and white. Should also not look to bad in combination with the Vectorworks-Logo.
Version 1: cadfish
Version 2: cadfish - Vectorworks Partner
("Vectorworks Partner" in Rotis Semi Sans)
I am providing cad classes, seminarys, support and sales of Vectorworks.
This is what our customers do:
Make a cool connection to easy to use, exclusive, creative architecture and urbanism DESIGN SOFTWARE! And you can of course be creative and play with the name and think of using the character of an catfish in the logo... be creative! :) If you want to make a connection to the region where I am active: It is the Austrian Alps.
Actually the slogan might fit:
"cadfish - Vectorworks Ambassador Austrian Alps"
Very simple example of another existing sales office:
(please be way more creative then this!)
my homepage will be: http://www.cadfish.at
Pictures of a catfish:
The fish could even have a little influence from the style of street-art:
You can also create a separate logo with the fish, next to
the letters "cadfish" if you want to try that out!
I guess I should mention this again:
No need to get stucked with the fish... The fish-logo was an idea
and it's nice if it really fits nicely. (but it is not required. Don't force it!)
A very important task for me is that the logo looks really good in black and white
and that it is a clean, exclusive design that speaks (or attract) my customers!(my offers will be send by eMail and very often printed out in black & white. And it should still look good!)
My customers are:
Architects, interior designer, light- and event-designer, Landscape architects, urbanists and all kind of creative people and designers...
