"Settlement" refers to a preindustrial, farm-to-table lifestyle. Harvesting wheat in the fields. Stone buildings with thatch roofs. A grist mill. The way people "should be" eating.
The included concept logo of the farmer with the plow evokes something most people don't do - think about where their food comes from. We sell real food from human farmers, not processed food from "big corporations".
Please don't incorporate specific food icons (wheat, rice.etc) as our product line will be diverse. Also, please don't use a "field and barn" motif as this is a cliche. Instead, iconography should be based on the "farmer" concept - there is a real human being behind the food you are about to buy.
Please avoid monochromatic designs - at least 2 colors should be used.
Gradient use is OK however the logo should still be legible in black and white (i.e. if it is faxed)
The logo will be used in both an isolated fashion (ex. webpage header) and integrated on product packaging. Color choice will, ideally, work for both RGB and CMYK without the use of specialty inks.
A relatively "squarish" logo is preferred; i.e. a rectangular ratio is OK just not too horizontally wide.
Our slogan is TBD and is actually optional in the design - I'd rather have a powerful logo without a slogan than something which has to compromise. If used, any variation on "slogan goes here" is fine.
Please ensure that any source artwork is compatible with Adobe CS5.
Thanks and have fun =)
