My name is Oscar, one of the founders of Thimble. If you're reading this, thank you for taking a shot at designing a logo for us. We're excited to see what you come up with. We tried ourselves and although we've been using a decent one for a while, it's time for something a little better. Our current one is at http://www.thimble.io.
In a nutshell, Thimble delivers a monthly orange box to your doorstep with electronics parts to learn and build fun and useful hardware devices (robots, drones, LED cubes, alarm clocks, etc). We have a learning app that provides instructions for you to build what's inside each kit. Some folks call us 'Birchbox for electronics' or 'Heathkits or Erector Sets of the 21st century'. That's great and all but we want to be just Thimble. :)
If you really want to get a sense of what we're about, I'd encourage you to check out our Kickstarter page. http://kck.st/1PWC38W. We're 39 days in and have brought in close to $229,000. So as you can tell, our logo is going to need to be kick-ass.
Our target audience is the DIY Electronics and maker community. These are people that love to create. They'd rather create something themselves than go out and buy it. They want to understand how the world works and we plan to offer a product that can quench that thirst. Specifically, we're going after kids and adults that have an interest in building things. For the older crowd, we're targeting parents that want to spend more time with their family but also enjoy technical projects for themselves.
