Story Behind the Brand:
In the a Buddhist scripture, the Anguttara Nikaya, there’s a story of banyan tree on the land of King Koravya. The scripture says that the shade of the banyan tree’s widespread branches was cool and lovely, and its shelter broadened to twelve leagues. The scripture says that the tree bore the most delicious fruit in the land, yet the King arranged no one to guard its fruit, as no guard was needed. None in the land hurt another for the tree’s fruit, nor did they harm the tree.
But one day, there came a foreign man in to the kingdom. The man laid in the trees shade, ate his fill of fruit, and before he went, broke down a branch from the tree. And the banyan tree thought, "How amazing, how astonishing it is that a man should be so evil as to break off a branch from me after taking of my shade, and eating his fill of my fruit. Suppose I bore no more fruit." And the tree bore no more fruit from that day.
Non-toxic, non-chemical, truly natural cleaning products, we are also aiming to have a number of our products certified Organic (which is unheard of in the household cleaning products sector)
In every product the Banyan Tree produces, we consider the potential impact it has on the environment. In doing this, the brand concept is that we are trying to create an environment in which the Banyan Tree is able to bear fruit again; without worry of being exploited or harmed.
With this story and concept in mind, we want a brand that has a communal feel to it. A brand that instills in consumers that by purchasing products made by Banyan Tree, they are attempting to do good along with us. We want them to feel as they have a joint interest with the brand, and the goal is: to have the Banyan Tree bear fruit once again.
