VERY IMPORTANT: Please think about who the typical Chapin Furniture customer is as you are designing the logo:
OUR CUSTOMER'S STYLE- not ultra contemporary, and not formal or ultra
traditional in their furniture choices. Our customer tends to fall right
in the middle with what I would call a transitional style similar to
"Pottery Barn" style. Some of our crowd likes the West Elm look that is
not as overstuffed and fluffy as Pottery Barn (typically our younger
customer). A lot of our customers do like clean lines, which are good
for the logo, but very few of our customers would ever actually purchase
something like the "egg chair" which we have seen in many of the
logo designs creations. Though the egg style makes for a nice use with the letters in
our logo, we're afraid that it will not send the right message to our
customers. We are OK with something a little abstract in the logo, but
nothing overtly contemporary, like a literal use of an "egg chair," if
that makes sense. We want to make sure that the logo accurately portrays the correct image to our typical buyers
as to what they can expect to find in our store.

I want a logo that would speak to people driving by on the interstate in a way that would communicate who we are (a furniture store) and intriguing or different enough to make them say, "That looks interesting. I'd like to stop there (even if they had no clue of who we are). A bold logo that can be seen and interpreted from a distance is important to us. Not a lot of clutter in the logo. I like something a little less traditional, but not so modern in form that it would not connect with our older clientele as well. A couple of things I do like about our current logo:
1. The chair in the words. This seems to say to me, "This company does something that relates to furniture." We don't have to keep the chair in the logo, but it does help clarify who we are while keep the logo fairly simple. I'm open to new ideas, though.
2. The ".com" on the end of the logo makes it easy to identify our website. I think I'd like to keep the ".com" at the end of the logo somehow. This part of the logo does not need to stand out as much. I want it to be a reference item only for the logo, not something that commands attention.
