Name : d.ish
(my first name is “Dirk”, hence the letter “D”. Then… “Dish” refering to cooking of course. With being “ish” I want to express that I am something like my competitors but just slightly different in a unconventional way)
As an expert in wine and cooking I rent my services to restaurants, private customers and companies. I am very passionate when it comes down to food and wine so everywhere I can share my passion is for me a blessing.
My services include :
- restaurants : helping out as a sous-chef, giving consultations towards the wine list and wine/food combinations
- private customers : home-cooking , wine courses
- companies : wine courses, wine/dine incentives
… So basically … FOOD & WINE, where the “food” really has the focus.
… And basically my market is broad … restaurants/private customers/companies. But… all need to be “foodies”. People who are interested in “taste” and like to learn more about wine and food. I guess this is the group between 30 – 70 yrs old.
I am a young company and I work alone so the identity need to be young and dynamic and I like to look at food and wine in a non conformistic way. I don’t like the traditional theories but like the modern, down to earth approach.
I started out as an industrial engineer construction. My real passion has always been food and wine. I gave up my job as an engineer (after 5 years) to find a living that was close to my heart.
I found a job 10 years ago as a salesman in wine. In the meantime I became partner in a wine importing company and created another company for wine courses.
The last years I got so inspired by some chefs and I started to get véry interested in cooking. For the moment I am very intentsively studying cooking and getting my degree as a “chef”.
The style I want to cook is going back to the traditional dishes, but with the knowledge of the “modern molecular cooking” to ‘slightly’ improve the recipes.
I have recently quit my share in the wine import business and I am creating now the new business that will get my focuss for 100% : “d.ish” !
And that of course is the business described above.
The uniqueness of d.ish is that I started from a wine background and now focussing on cooking. So,… my focus on cooking will always be with the “wine knowledge” in the back of my head, so always influencing my thinking and recipes. So I think a lot of chefs don’t have the wine knowledge I have, hence the “USP”.
Enjoy Life !!! (=affective layer)
Quality (=cognitive layer)
Modern with respect for Tradition
Wine and Food
A little bit “pazzo” (Italian for Crazy and different)
Please try to understand my identity as described above and if questions, please ask. All is possible in design.
You can work with punctation marks as ) , ° , > , or whatever
And I was thinking maybe ‘°’ is funny, referring to temperature of cooking and wine !
I like modern/tight designs, but I hate kitschy stuff. So , after having created something modern it still needs to be an identity that gives “confidence”, “quality” and “thrustworthyness”.
I like designs that are timeless.
The logo needs to stand out and be recognized from far away.
