The Charcoal Project. charcoalproject.org
More than two billion energy-poor people around the world depend on wood, charcoal, dung or agricultural residues as primary fuel for their cooking and heating needs, leading to significant health, economic, and environmental consequences.
The mission of The Charcoal Project is to facilitate and advocate for the conversion from traditional wood and charcoal fuel to energy efficient stoves and sustainable biomass alternatives in developing countries.
Our goal is nothing less than to replace the three-stones-and-a-pot wood or charcoal heating method with more energy-efficient stoves and innovative fuels based on sustainable biomass.
Very broad audience in many different countries, many of which can't read or write in their own language, let alone English.
We will also be targeting major donors, governments, and other non-profits.
The mission is simple. A basic logo that will convey the notion of burning of a sustainable fuel based on agricultural material or vegetable matter.
I don't think words are necessary.
One interesting concept to keep in mind is the three-stones and a pot concept. This basically reflects the technology mankind has used for the last 3000 years. In a world of limited resources, it's time to leave this outdated technology behind.
We don't have any particular preferences when it comes to colors but four-color process could be nice.
Also, a circle or globe reflects the world, which is also something we want to emphasize.
This is THE logo that will appear on EVERYTHING!
