Looking for cool hip logo for new programming company for site

I am creating a new start-up company for development work for programming websites. I would like to have a cool looking memorable logo that will be recognizable for a long time. I am an outgoing/hip type of person and do like the tattoo art scene with classic lines and great looking design. The personality that I am looking for is humorous but also professional.

The target audience I am looking for are smaller shops that are looking for professional looking websites. I want these smaller companies to understand what I do and how I can help them. These people want to see me as a professional that can deliver and high end product at an inexpensive cost to them.

I am looking for a logo that would include a squid and something correlating to the desert either a cactus or dunes or something along those lines. I want a cartoon-ish squid in the logo. I do want the company name of Desert Squid within the logo as well. The logo should be designed to where I can use the image for smaller prints without the Desert Squid text. I like clean line fonts and not italics or cursive. I am completely starting from scratch so I am looking for great ideas and creativity. I would like to eventually have it in color for the site. I can convert to black and white for print if need be. I would like to have it delivered as psd and ai files if possible. I am really into retro 50s style looks. I have uploaded an image of a logo that I like. I know it has script but I am really into the retro look.
