We are looking for a powerful logo that incorporates the cellular biology/molecular biology/genetics focuses or the teaching/research focuses of our program; or both. We are not looking for a logo that only utilizes the UCLA logo and the department's name. We want something that will standout. Because our master’s program specifically focuses on the unique interactions between these different scientific disciplines, we would like our logo to reflect the collaborative, integrative nature of our program’s subject focus. In addition, because students are coming into the program hoping to gain valuable teaching and research experience, we would like for those two experiences to be incorporated as well.
Below is a list of the most common focuses and experiences of the students in our program.
UCLA Integrative Biology and Physiology Coursework focus:
-Tissue biology (e.g. muscle, spinal cord, eye, ear, digestive systems)
-Focuses on research that can impact our understanding of the human body
-You can find the exact research focuses of the faculty members at the faculty page:
UCLA Integrative Biology and Physiology Experience focus:
-Conducting independent research
-Use as many colors as you would like. Please try to include the UCLA blue and gold in those colors.
-No exhausted, over-used designs (for example: DNA helix, microscope, owl, atomic structure, chemical flask, graduation cap, etc.). Please make sure these ideas look fresh are not clip art.
-Please don’t use symbols that represent different scientific disciplines (for example: atomic orbitals and chemical structures are from general chemistry, rotating gears are from physics, etc.) Please contact us if you have any questions!
-Have a logo that combines different things together
-Avoid the following subjects: Neuroscience, Chemistry, Plant biology, Animal biology
Please also read the guidelines (http://brand.ucla.edu/brand/digital/logo/) regarding the UCLA Logo and how it should be reproduced and things to avoid when designing a logo for us.
