Shawnee Hills Outdoors
I am an avid hiker and photographer and have been for the last 10 years. I launched a website about 8 months ago dealing with this passion and am ready to take it to the next level. Right now I am focused on exploring the natural areas in Southern Illinois and share my explorations on the website with personal stories, photographs, and videos.
This year I have started changing this hobby into a business and plan to build a brand.
My target audience are mainly people that enjoy the outdoors. Are primary readers are hikers, nature photographers, and nature writers, but plan to expand to people who kayak, canoe, bike, rock climb, and rappel.
I wouldn't say our target audience are "hippies" or "treehuggers", (we do welcome them), but our audience are mainly people with a general love for being outside in nature.
My main audience at this time are men and women 30-55, but will begin to target 18-30 year old.
Uses of Logo:
> Website Header
> T-Shirts & apparel
> other merchandise-ebooks, signage of company vehicle large magnet form
What I am looking for
> something modern, but with a hint of classical rustic look
> integration of rolling hills in logo, maybe trees?
> words within the design, but a logo that can stand alone and have Shawnee Hills Outdoors to the side.
> would prefer maybe an oval design, but not stuck on oval if the design is good
> Looking for Natural Colors, but looking for name to standout, but not with "screaming colors"
> Would like the words "Shawnee Hills" to be larger the the "Outdoors" part, maybe even two separate colors.
> Would be interested in seeing some simple designs and some BOLD designs.
> possible integration of tag line "Exploring the Natural Lands of Southern Illinois"
>I like this logo at http://www.moabadventurecenter.com/
What I do not want
> We do not deal with hunting or fishing, so would like to distinguish that we are about hiking, photography, and recreational activities, but nothing that would stand out (not sure if I want anything in it, like a hiking person or a camera, but am open to your creativity)
> Looking for something a little more complex than say hills, with a line underneath.
