We are not looking for a traditional brewery type of logo. We want something fresh yet timeless. Beer is sacred to us. Our guests will see a lot of dark hard wood, candle light, there will be a cavernous barrel aging room and bar downstairs. We picture a lot of hipsters inside and a lot of fixed gear bikes parked outside.
The origin of the name is from my wife's southern roots. It is common
to use the word "right" to emphasize an adjective or the definitive
nature of a statement. Example: "that girl is right, pretty" or "he is
a right, proper criminal". Our goal is to open a right, proper
As for colors I am am open. I like the elegance of black and dark
blues, I would not be opposed to conservative uses of red and/or
Rustic, vintage serif fonts I think would be great.
I want to avoid imagery associated with Washington DC
I am not opposed to tangible objects.
Another thought I had was I like vintage rock and roll concert posters
from the dc punk scene as well as art nouveau advertisements, and
communist propaganda posters of the early 20th century. I know that
those three things are distinctly different from each other but I
think they give you an idea of where my tastes lay.
I would like a very ornate logo with a lot of flowing organic art nouveau style forms
I think the type face should be the most prominent aspect of the logo
however I would like some additional imagery incorporated.
I hope this helps.
