So we actually don't exist... yet. My family owns the Sonoma Cheese Factory located in down town Sonoma, Ca. We no longer make cheese there, however, we have a 17k ft facility that is just begging for a new project. The retail store in the front of the property sees about 500k people a year pass through, however, they are kind of bummed that there is no longer actual cheese production going on anymore. This is where Sonoma Suds comes in. We are looking to incorporate a mirco brewery on the premise along with a smaller scale cheese production, resulting in a great pairing of beer and cheese. Right now we are just at the concept stage, and this logo will be used to obtain the required investment.
Well I guess anyone who drinks beer...
At this point we are open to all design ideas/concepts. We will prob just start with production of one type of Ale, "Bear Ale." I actually just made this name up, however, it is fitting because of the "Bear Flag Revolt" being in Sonoma. Sonoma is rich in history, so our idea is to have each new beer type link to some historic event with the story on the back label (for example the term "Hooker" is derived from Nor Cal - this will be a fun label :). I've researched beer labels and really can't decide on a favorite type of design, however, there are some elements that could be integrated:
The Bear Flag
The State Seal of California
The Sonoma Plaza
Sonoma City Hall
This label design should also be two fold. The logo itself for Sonoma Suds should be able to stand alone for other projects when taken out of context of the individual beer label. So keep that in mind.
Also a back label would be nice to include as well. Perhaps just a background of the Sonoma Plaza with the history text over it along with the bar code and other standard beer label stuff.
I'll be adding more to this, but it should be enough to get the ball rollin...
