Not a slogan but a symbol. I would like to incorporate the symbol of Aum (or Om), into the logo to represent that the coffee/environment at The Yellow Cup.
Vertel ons iets meer over jezelf en de mensen die je bereikt
The Yellow Cup is a specialty coffeehouse located in Texas serving primarily espresso based beverages and pastries. The branding of the coffeehouse reflects the owner's philosophy to life and its surroundings. At The Yellow Cup, the atmosphere is relaxed, comfortable and cozy to promote connections among the customers, the staff and to the present. Being present in the moment is the most important message we want our customers to feel and express. We want to promote a place where people can come to escape the daily hustle and to provide them a cup of coffee they can taste (not drink) even for just that moment. The target audience are people in the middle to upper-middle class consisting a slight majority to women in the age group of 30-60.

The logo for The Yellow Cup should consists of a graphical representation of a hot cup of espresso or cappuccino with a hidden symbol of aum (or Om) incorporated into the cup/handle/saucer/steam. The aum symbol must NOT be immediately identifiable. It should only be recognizable if someone points it out to them. The cup should be in yellow leaning towards a rustic or an earthy shade of yellow. "The Yellow Cup" is the primary text identifier followed by a smaller font "Coffeehouse" in clean and legible letters. The text identifiers are stacked and can go either beneath or alongside of the cup graphic. Due to the yellow color, the completed logo should have a version that is easily recognizable on a white background. The design should reflect the interior decoration similar to furniture found in Restoration Hardware or Pottery Barn. Slightly rustic and industrial but soft enough for home comfort.
These are general guidelines but please feel free to submit additional ideas that you might think would work better.
Now, here are a few points I want to make:
1. Do make the cup/saucer/steam iconic and recognizable by itself. It should be the signature of the company, not just another cup of coffee. Don't make it just another fancy cup or one that's too busy to be iconic. BE ICONIC! BE SIMPLE!
2. The aum symbol is part of the icon and it MUST be hidden or unrecognizable at first. The viewer should only notice it if someone points it out to them or if they know it's hidden in there somewhere. If the viewer doesn't know any better, it should be just an iconic coffee logo. Don't just place the symbol somewhere. Use the strokes of the symbol and be creative about it. Try not to reverse the image as it looses its meaning. Rotating it is fine. Changing the stroke size is fine. Don't omit strokes.
3. Use clean fonts without serif or feets. Serifs can sometimes make reading difficult and can be lost if the printed material such as embroidery. Use block letters, no cursive or wavy fonts.
4. Submitting different uses of the logo is definitely a big plus. You can submit ideas for stamp emblems, banners, posters, etc. This gives me a feel of your creativeness and it shows me you can over deliver and the potential to keep you on board for future projects.
