China Journeys (for site: china-journeys.com)
We are ex-employees of a UK tour operator disappointed with changes for the worse. We are going to go it alone and run our own trips to China based around a quality product and high levels of service. We need a logo that incorporates a feel for ‘China’, ‘travel’ and ‘quality’. We would also like to incorporate an aspect of fun but that should not detract from the main three issues.
We aim to sell standard tours and tailor-made packages to discerning travellers. These people:
1. Enjoy life
2. Are probably professionals (or retired professionals) aged over 30
3. Get excited by something unusual
4. Do plenty of research to ensure they get what they want
5. Have a good general knowledge
6. Are not fooled by clichés or gimmicks
Update - 20 July
Please note: At this stage we have seen over 50 designs. It has become clear that we want a 'mode of transport' to represent the Journey element. This is giving the necessary balance between China and Journey. Too many early designs only really focussed on the China aspect.
We are considering offering a second prize for a logo to be used on another related project. We see from 'Help' that this must be negotiated by 'Private Message'. We may be in touch with other highly rated designs.
The site is completely new so there are few preconceptions.
We want a logo that will sit comfortably on a web page. We are aiming for a 1200 pixel width two-column design.
The logo should be produced in a vector format with a quick-to-load file size.
The colour scheme has not been set so use any colours you feel appropriate.
The logo should not include the name ‘China Journeys’ or the website address. We will want these displayed as text on the face of the page.
China is a large country. We do not want a logo based around one geographic feature which might then imply that we cover only a limited part of that.
One example of symbolism that could work - but which is not the only one nor essential: The Five Elements
