This will be a poster promoting our fall concert. This is our 159th annual fall concert at the historic Hill Auditorium. We expect almost 3 thousand people in attendance.
The theme of the concert is "This is Our Song". We want a poster that really embodies that theme. To us, “This is Our Song” makes us think of our community, and the power of music to unite us all. Maybe a significant UofM landmark such as Hill Auditorium featured prominently. We also think it would be cool to include the cosmos in the design. We think this would reflect the awesome introspection that can come through music. However, we are open to your interpretation of the theme and would love to see what you come up with.
We’ve made a pinterest board with different images that we think reflect the theme of our concert and the aesthetic we want from our poster. These images shouldn’t be included directly, but rather serve as inspiration.
We have a few things that must be included on the poster. They all will be attached to the contest, as well as in this Google Drive folder: https://drive.google.com/drive/fold…sp=sharing
Required to include:
-First is our "key". It's our logo, and has been for many years now.
-Second is the time, location, and date of our concert: November 10th, 2018 at 8pm. Hill Auditorium.
-Third is the link to buy tickets: bit.ly/ummgcF2018
-Fourth is the name of our musical director, Professor Mark Stover
-Fifth is the name of the concert "This is Our Song"
-Sixth is the fact that this is our 159th fall concert
Optional to include:
-Our "signature". It's basically just another logo
-"Featuring the Friars". They're an a cappella group that is a subset of the Glee Club, and they perform at all our concerts.
Also included is a past poster of ours for reference.
