I am new to this whole process, so please let me know if you have any questions or if there's anything I've missed or left out that you need.
In a nutshell, the challenge is to design a label that has an upscale, down home, artisan feel and appeals to the "mustard connoisseur", the home chef looking for new ingredients to cook with, and also the "regular joe" guy casually walking by our booth who loves to put mustard on his sandwiches every day.
It would be great if we could have a label that we could use in the future with other products we develop. So **being able to change the product name and ingredients on the label ourselves will be optimal**. We don't currently have nutrition panels, but plan to do so in the future.
We need either a front and back label, or one continuous label. Our the surface area for the jars is 3" high and 8" around, but prefer the label not cover the entire jar so the mustard product can be seen (so a label that is 4-5" long would be max length if one continuous label). Technical drawing for the jars is here: http://www.freundcontainer.com/images/art/6240B11-B-ROUND.PDF
Our current labels (created by me, printed at home) are simple black and white with a bit of red. But please feel free to experiment with color. We aren't looking for a lot of crazy colors but some color would be nice, and would like to see a "USA Patriotic" color option too, although all of this still must keep with the "upscale artisan" feel.
Also, we like to attach recipe cards to the jars with kitchen twine to give it more of an artisan feel to the entire package, and have the cover of these small cards match the labels. I've attached the three that I've designed so far (Balsamic, Wholegrain, Mole).
**Please Note:The original logo we received had only a generic dog silhouette inserted as a place holder, I used Photoshop to take a picture of our own dog's head and place it over the generic dog. Please be sure that the logo you use has our own dog's head on the logo, not the generic "place holder" dog silhouette. if you are having problems downloading please let me know.
